ESG without external dependency: Senacor relies on internal expertise
At Senacor, sustainability is an integral part of the company. Numerous measures had already been implemented before the collaboration with Planted: aCO2-oriented travel policy, the promotion of job bikes, the switch to green electricity and electric vehicles in the vehicle fleet or the focus on more sustainable suppliers.
However, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) posed a new challenge: how can the implementation of the complex directive be organized efficiently and with a clear strategic focus?
The aim was not only to meet regulatory requirements, but also to establish sustainability as an integral part of the corporate culture. This means building up in-house expertise instead of relying exclusively on external consulting. At the same time, it was clear that a digital solution was needed to replace manual processes in Excel.
Thanks to the intuitive ESG software, we can implement reporting efficiently and collaboratively, build internal expertise and at the same time achieve tangible financial savings through Planted.

Structured reporting with Planted
The decisive factor for Senacor was a solution that combines intuitive use with collaborative working methods and at the same time offers cost efficiency . Planted was chosen because the software creates transparency, integrates various departments and auditors and significantly simplifies the fulfillment of CSRD requirements through automation.
The user-friendly operability of the software was particularly important: the entire process had to be easy to understand and implement for all departments involved.
"Planted has helped me a lot to pick up the right people and decision-makers internally and to present what we are likely to face and which solutions best suit Senacor," says Sophie Weiner, Sustainability Officer at Senacor.
Initial successes: the path to the sustainability report
Initially, Senacor was able to successfully implement the double materiality analysis and the greenhouse gas balancing according to Scope 1 to 3. The internal workload was initially high: all relevant departments - from Office Management and Human Resources to IT - were efficiently involved and worked together on the implementation. AI features within the software solution accelerated the process and led to time-saving working methods.
Based on the balance sheet and materiality analysis, Senacor worked closely with the Planted team of experts to formulate strategic goals and develop a clear reduction strategy . The Senacor team has already successfully initiated initial measures - such as replacing supplied mineral water with water dispensers in some offices or making adjustments to the travel policy.
"Planted has helped us prepare for increasing regulatory requirements, better understand and meet customer standards and embed sustainability more firmly in the company. We now have ambitious strategic goals and processes and a high level of internal expertise," says Sophie Weiner.
Another success: by building up internal expertise in the process with Planted, Senacor was also able to achieve financial savings.
From strategy to implementation - How Senacor is further expanding sustainability
Senacor is well on the way to further implementing the CSRD requirements and strategically implementing them within the company. The next milestone is the preparation of a voluntary report with the support of Planted, which will build on the findings and data to date.
Senacor is planning further steps in the long term: The goal includes Net Zero by 2040, an SBTi validation (Science Based Targets initiative) and the establishment of a certified environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001. Thanks to improved data collection, Senacor will be able to analyze emissions even more precisely and identify reduction potential in the future. In order to promote the topic of sustainability and to go beyond legal requirements, Senacor is planting its own company forest in cooperation with Planted and various customers.
Thanks to Planted, sustainability is not just a compliance issue, but is actively embedded in the corporate strategy - efficiently, digitally and with a long-term focus.
Even if it is not yet clear when the reporting obligation will apply to Senacor, we will very likely continue to be subject to reporting requirements in the future. It is therefore clear to us that we are working continuously to implement the increasing customer requirements and see the extended deadline as an opportunity to prepare ourselves very well for reporting. We are optimizing internal processes, ensuring high data quality and also using the time available to launch further projects.
